For example, many tourists in their routes must celebrate the Assumption Church, located in the second largest city - Kondopoga. This temple is known as the tallest wooden cathedral in Russia. Another famous temple is located in the capital of Karelia - Petrozavodsk. It was built under the guidance of an architect from Italy and is known as Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

Also, historical sites include the village of Martsialnye Vody, founded back in the time of Peter the Great. Nowadays, the village is also important as a mud resort.

There are sights in Karelia for lovers of national parks (for example, Kalevala or Vodlozersky national parks), zoos (Karelian zoo or Zoo complex "Three Bears").
