A married couple from Great Britain Alan and Sarah Beasley disguised their luxurious two-story house, which experts estimate at $ 800 thousand, under an unassuming hay barn. Inventive British decided to cheat in order to deceive local authorities. Alas, a great scam has opened. Now the spouses will have to demolish their "mansion".

Beasley received a building permit twelve years ago. The Hatfield administration (Hertfordshire county) was confident that they planned to build a standard windowless shed for storing hay. As a result, a house was built, equipped with three bedrooms, a bathroom, a gym and a living room.

Alan and Sarah lived in it for four years, hoping that officials would eventually recognize the building as a residential building. However, Beasley’s initiative only angered the administration. An endless series of trials began. The final decision of the judge was not in favor of the couple.

In their defense, Beasley said that at first they did not even think of living in a barn, but later changed their minds, trying to protect themselves from thefts taking place in the area. The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the lower seven judges, who considered that Beasley intentionally deceived, so they should move out. The spouses were given one year to move and demolish the “barn”.
