Hemlock - a general description
Hemlock is a herbaceous plant, which has quite impressive dimensions, reaching a height of 50 centimeters to two meters. A distinctive feature of the hemlock is its branched appearance and a gray color with red-brown spots. The leaves are small, the flowers are small, collected in complex umbrellas. Seeds are usually collected in August and September, hemlock blooms in the summer months (June, July).
Hemlock - species and places of growth
The plant is most often found in the foothills of the Kuban, as well as Sudak and Terek. Hemlock loves moisture, so it can often be found near ponds, for example, in river valleys, he is a frequent guest in weedy places.
Hemlock - healing properties
Hemlock is actively used in traditional medicine and in the creation of various kinds of pharmaceuticals. The composition of the plant includes drugs that have a beneficial effect on the human body. Hemlock has a calming effect, it is often used for convulsions, spasms of internal organs, whooping cough, varicose veins, epilepsy, it is an excellent helper for migraines.
People’s healers have noticed that the plant relieves pain in cancer, especially effective for problems with the prostate and mammary gland. Hemlock helps with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, problems in the genitourinary system.
Hemlock - dosage forms
Hemlock is a very controversial plant; it can bring both benefit and harm to the human body, if it is incorrect to collect its parts. For pharmaceutical purposes, grass, flowers, and hemlock seeds are commonly used.
Grass and flowers should be collected during the flowering period (June, July), however, this must be done carefully. The strong smell of the plant can cause a lot of problems, for example, cause a headache, so experts recommend collecting parts of the plant, becoming in the wind.
Another rule when collecting a hemlock is to collect in two containers, for example, fill half a half-liter can with flowers and small leaves, then pour the workpiece into a three-liter container (shake it constantly) and pour 500 grams of vodka. This kind of technology is necessary so that the poisons contained in the plant do not begin to be released under the influence of heat.
For the treatment of various diseases, hemlock seeds are also used, they are collected in late August - early September.
Hemlock - recipes
Most often, for the treatment of diseases, representatives of traditional medicine make alcohol tincture based on hemlock. This tool is prepared as follows:
- 1 part of the leaves is mixed with 2 parts of the seeds;
- the mixture should be filled with alcohol so that the liquid completely covers the plant;
- hemlock infused for 14 days, then it should be filtered.
After the tincture is ready, it must be started to be taken, diluted with water:
- for cancer of the esophagus - 2 drops of hemlock tincture per 1 tablespoon of water three times a day;
- for diseases of a different nature - drop by drop on ½ cup of water on an empty stomach in the morning, after which nothing should be eaten for an hour. Every day, the dose of tincture should increase by one drop, as a result, by the fortieth day it should reach 40 drops per ½ cup of water.
Hemlock - contraindications
Use hemlocks should be very careful, since the plants contain toxic substances, an overdose of which is very dangerous. Take a hemlock-based drug only after consulting a doctor.
