Such a homemade sun is present at every Pancake week. It is easily made at home from improvised materials. Most often this is done by children from a close friendly company.

Stage 3

Strips of 2 cm wide are cut out of colored paper in red, yellow and orange. They will become future rays of the sun. At each strip, both ends are glued to each other.

Stage 4

Multi-colored rays are glued to the sun on the back side, where the cardboard is located.

Stage 5

A yellow paper circle is also pasted on the back of the cardboard. It is recommended that at this stage, stick the wand inside (between paper and cardboard). It should fill the entire diameter of the sun and protrude by 30 cm.

Stage 6

A smile and eyes are drawn to the sun with a brush and paints.

By the way, in the old days specially for the holiday were prepared sweet lollipops in the shape of a sun. Sugar then did not see the light. Therefore, the composition of sweets was jam and fruits.

DIY doll on Shrovetide

Such dolls were made in every family every year. It was believed that during the year the doll, while in the house, accumulated a lot of information, protecting residents from sadness and sorrow, and it needs to be burned. There could be many dolls in the hut, each of which was responsible for a specific person or task. They were replaced every year by new home-made rag guardians of the hearth.

Materials and tools: a piece of fabric for a dress, a piece of fabric for a skirt and scarf, synthetic filler, thick scarlet linen thread, pins.

Stage 1

A flap of plain white fabric is taken. A square with a side of 20 cm is cut out of it. From it will be made the head and body of the crafts at Shrovetide with their own hands.

Stage 2

Two squares with sides of 10 cm are cut out of the same patch to make the hands of a pupa.

Stage 3

2 squares with a side of 20 cm are cut from a flap of bright fabric. It will be a skirt.

Stage 4

A scarf is cut from a triangular patch. The long side of the triangle is 12 cm.

Stage 5

A soft ball is formed from synthetic filler. It is installed in the center of the white square. Then the fabric with the ball is flipped in the air. The ball is supported with one hand, and the fabric around the synthetic filler is folded into the head like with the other. With the help of a scarlet thread, a semblance of a neck is tightened under a ball. The thread is tightened strictly clockwise. In this traced symbolism of the movement of the sun in the sky. The use of scarlet thread is also required. In antiquity, this color was used to protect against dark forces, which also carries the power of fire with light.

Stage 6

Do-it-yourself do-it-yourself handles are twisted from small white squares. To do this, the fabric bends as shown in the figure.

Stage 7

The shape of the wrist is tied with a scarlet thread to the doll. The rag handles are attached to the body so that they are always in the up position: they seem to stretch towards the sun. For the wrists, then the doll can be tied and hanged in the air, which is most often done before.

The whole structure is wound with a scarlet thread clockwise.

Stage 8

Two colored squares for a future skirt fold in half into a triangle.

Stage 9

DIY craftsmanship is placed on shreds with their own hands as shown in the figure.

Stage 10

The visual torso of the pupa is wrapped in these shreds.

Thus, one triangle will overlap, and the other will twist with the first.

Stage 11

The skirt is wrapped in scarlet thread at the waist in a clockwise direction.

Stage 12

A handkerchief is put on a doll, which is worn and tied at the neck to a knot.

It turned out a lovely doll for Shrovetide with their own hands. For crafts on a spring holiday, relatives and girlfriends often presented each other. It was believed that during the weaving of such a thing, one should read a magical conspiracy without stopping, so that no unnecessary thoughts enter the body of the pupa. Such a keeper of the hearth was placed in a place of honor in the house or hung by the stove. Kids were not allowed to play pens. They had their own special baby dolls-motanka.
